I ENJOYED THE SECOND EDITION AS MUCH AS THE FIRST AND MAYBE EVEN MORE, AS THE OUTLINES FOR COMMONLY PRESCIBED PSYCHOPHARM. DRUGS IS SO CONVIENENT AND ESASY TO LOOK UP. WHEN I AM MAKING MY CHIOCES FOR PRESCRIBING. I ENJOYED THIS EDITION SO MUCH I BOUGHT A SECOND ONE FOR A COWORKER.

Useful reference and easy to read!

Excellent and rich book, yet it is concise and not overwhelming.

Book is generally good. A little disappointed after my superficial review.. Author advises to treat anxiety with Seroquel among other medications...As far I'm aware, this medication does not have indication for anxiety from FDA. It has, though, Black Box warning from FDA for morbidity and mortality, and there is widespread campaign of cutting antipsychotics in elderly. I found this suggestion outdated.

Excellent.

It is the best geriatric psychopharmacology book out in the market. It is very thorough and incorporates the latest research.A must for every clinician who is involved with older adults.

Beginning with the concession that our imagination for sustainable cities is still maturing, the opening chapter narrates a possible scenario of what a sustainable city might look like in fifty years or more.The book is divided into three parts: 1) "The City as Human Construct" (which explores the ways we imagine and articulate urban places and urban sustainability); 2) "The Urban Climate Challenge" and 3) "Politics, Equity and Livability". These sections cover a broad swath of the socioeconomic, governmental and ecological issues that will lead our cities in the direction of sustainability.The book's final two chapters, which explore inclusion, cohesion and social justice were perhaps the ones that most captured my imagination, as these issues are often omitted in explorations of what urban sustainability might look like.Our world is undoubtedly on the road to urbanization, and the health and well-being of all of us, we need cities that are moving thoughtfully toward sustainability. As a Portland resident, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. This book reads like the ad copy put out by the mayor and his development friends, who are at the time of this writing busy knocking the city down to build luxury condos for speculative investors, and eager for any opportunity to put a "green" bow on the destruction. In fact, the book reads disturbingly like the greenwashing PR that Oregon's former first lady used to write at public expense as a consultant, before she found herself under public corruption investigation by the FBI. If you want to know how Portland is really run, buy yourself a DVD of "Chinatown." It's more realistic, and better written.

Excellent funny gift for friends or coffee table book. I dare someone to look through this book without cracking a smile.

One of the authors of "Bad Hair" is back with another off-the-wall collection of atrocious but funny Do's. But this time, they are so voluminous that they make Marge Simpson's hair look like a crew cut. The photos, gathered from window displays of hair salons, depict a dazzling array of outrageously hairy heads. Frizzed, teased, poufed, upswept, sculpted, bobbed, and coerced into outsized and unnatural shapes, these hairstyles are not for the faint of heart. Captions would have enhanced the presentation of these masterpieces.

Innes-Smith is back again with another hilarious book. When you were a kid waiting at the salon/barber to get your hair cut, do you remember picking up those large books filled with the latest hairstyles? I remember thinking they were hideous back then. Well, they really were hideous/hilarious and the author has collected them for this pictorial of bad coifs. Great book to leave on your coffee table to amuse your guests.

This is a cut-and-paste non-book that features a lot of punky 1980s hairdos that never made it into the mainstream and were purposely ironic and off-putting; so there's not a lot of snickering "what-were-they-thinking" laughs to be found in this small tome. The book should have been titled "Outrageous Hair For Homosexuals." Strangely enough, there's not a lot of "big hair" in the book! Many of the women and some of the "men" depicted have short hair, so go figure. The book is also completely devoid of text or credits or captions or any historical perspective--just a bunch of kooky pictures probably retrieved from Dumpsters behind salons in Manhattan and West Hollywood. A book on "big hair" should probably show us beehives from 1962 or Cleopatras (the kind of Priscilla Presley used to sport) or preacher pompadours (like Oral Roberts) or Elvis Presley and Jack Lord or country queens like Dolly Parton and Tammy Wynette and Loretta Lynn and show us big hair from history. Nothing doing. This one's definitely a hair-don't!!
