I liked it but the issue with the woman he was supposedly seeing was not solved. Was he with her? Did they break up? Were they just photographed together constantly? I mean, she is mentioned as someone he is seen with and the heroine is jealous and brings her up a lot but it is never talked about by the hero and I feel that it was unfinished business. He does say that while she was having their child and going through the mess she did, he was off jet setting. Does that mean he became the womanizer that I hate to read about while his woman suffered??? That is major points off for the hero if that is what he did. Also, they all seem to be sweating a lot, lol, no no, not THAT way!!!! It keeps saying how he wiped sweat off his brow with his forearm and how she had sweat on her upper lip in these different situations but it is weird. I do like that their chemistry just caught up with them after he found out she had been pregnant with his child. They were talking and then all of a sudden, BAM, making out!!! It was good in general and fun to read. Also at the end......SPOILER.......his mom and sister interrupt their "loving" on the stairs and then he asks them for some privacy and as soon as a door slams shut, they resolve their romance and go at it. Well, did his family leave or did they go back into the room they came out of??? This is never explained, just a door shutting. In my mind, while I was reading, the family went back into the room they were in and so when the hero and heroine resumed their loving, I was like "with mama in the next room?"!!!! LOL...they probably left but that needs to be more clarified. It was good though, some minor details need to be worked on but well worth the time and money to read.

This is one of KL's best books. It's got the flawed hero who was overreacting and discovers he shouldn't have gone to such an extreme and has to pay a penance for not listening (at all). It also has a heroine that unlike other books WAS in the wrong but you can still identify with her. She also admits to being wrong and has also paid penance. Throughout it all you can see their mutual love for one another though they're both frustrated and scared. I like how human they both are in this book. KL's got a strong ability to provide a reader with this ability and yet not make it TOO real, a grim tale but with an element that carries a reader through. People like the fantasy and books like this make it seem dimly reasonable that it MIGHT happen in real life. My only complaint in all of her books is how perfectly handsome the men are while the women struggle with self-confidence issues and are being carried along in this thought by the other characters in the book too. There were many times when I wanted to slug the friend's boyfriend for calling the heroine fat or ugly. And this isn't the first time I've read such downward talk about the heroine from an outside source. I don't mind if there's sometimes self doubt when comparing with another female but not when she's already gotten his undivided attention. That does seem a bit like fishing for compliments all the time. I do admit however I like it when the hero hates when she's gotten thinner and tells her so.A bit of counter-view with another reviewer, I haven't seen the issue with the not knowing what time you're in. KL does it a lot better than some authors I've read. I never had a problem.

This story is so beautiful I found myself getting misty while reading it. It reminded me of that movie "He said, She said" because Ms Lawrence writes each point of view of when Lily & Santiago met. Lily and her husband are going on a second honeymoon to Spain but when they get to the airport her husband Gordon said he's not going because he has unfinished work and that he would meet her in Spain later. Lily arrives in Spain alone and checks into the honeymoon suite -everyone including Santiago the rich alpha male assumes she's a widow because she's alone and crying. She's actually crying because her husband is a good for nothing cheating bastard and she knows it's over. So she and Santiago hook up and he's telling her to just forget her husband because he's dead and move on. She tries to tell him that her husband is not dead but it's hard to get him to listen to what she's saying. This book is funny, because Lily is funny- She suffers because the misunderstanding really hurt Santiago- I don't want to tell you too much but sparks fly between these two and it's awesome, a must read. I started reading this last night and could not put it down. I recommend this book highly- Kim Lawrence you've outdone yourself yet again.

Good writing style. Great characters--super alpha male, smart heroine who doesn't fall at his feet. Lots of angst. But I didn't feel a love connection--there was lust, remorse, anger, but I didn't get a sense of real love. A good read, but not very romantic.

This is the slowest book I have ever read. The heroine is a wimp and the hero is clueless.Worst Kim Lawrence book I have ever read. She is one of my favorites but this was flat.

very enjoyable read

I like Kim Lawrence however this book was really was a difficult read. It was hard to know whether you were in the past or present. Great story line but you wouldn't go back to read again. Not a keeper.

A quite enjoyable read - the characters and plot were a bit different than the norm and overall this made the story worthwhile. The only thing that seemed a bit unnecessary was the bit toward the end about her starting in a new flat as she was going to embark on her new job and then wham-o the HEA comes up - guess she won't be needing that bedsit or job after all (although nothing is outright said about it one way or the other). It kind of made me wonder why this was even mentioned and if her employer got stiffed a new hire and would have to be looking for a replacement on short notice. Not that that has anything to do with the romance, but as an employer having had new employees just not show up it puts a dent in the whole process. In any event - I do recommend this story for those who enjoy this genre. :)
